How did Wildfarmed start?

 

Fifteen years ago, Andy Cato put his music career on hold after discovering how conventional farming has created a false choice between growing food and nature restoration. After much trial and error, his wheat grown in a regenerative system, started to make waves. He later joined with Edd Lees, ex-financier, and George Lamb, former TV Presenter, to build a team capable of turning award-winning regenerative systems into a real business.

 

 

Today, the Wildfarmed family includes  a community of growers and over 1,000 best-in-class food businesses, from artisan bakers and Michelin-star chefs to nationwide chains, global catering companies, and major retailers.

 

 

What is Regenerative Agriculture?

Regeneration, simply put, is about returning something that has been lost. And British agricultural fields, once home to a wide range of birds, bugs and bees, have seen rapidly declining numbers over the past 50 years.

 

But, the good news is, nature loves a party, and for centuries, we know that diverse plants have thrived together without human interference. Sadly, the way most wheat is grown today is more like a lonely party for one — stripping away life from the field and leaving the soil uninhabitable for the essential organisms that provide nutrients for our food.
